It has been a busy first semester for EAM students this year!
The first-year EAM students welcomed many guest speakers, among them, President of CrossingClouds, Joel Edwards. He shared the Land administration application. Another guest speaker, Karen Jones, Team Lead and Administrative Coordinator, from Statoil advised EAM students about different opportunities available in legal departments within the oil and gas industry. We also had the opportunity to listen and meet Marcel Savoi, Staff Joint Venture Representative at Cenovus Energy. In his presentation he described JV agreements with specific points that EAM students should notice when dealing with JV contract in their work later.
Our field trip to the historic Turner Valley Gas Plant and the associated museum was a rewarding experience, where we learned about the beginnings of Alberta's rich petroleum industry while exploring the area.
The second annual Founder's Night was another success. The first and second year students gained networking experience and made connections with the founders of the program, alumni, and industry representatives.
