INSTRUCTORS

Peter Saunders

Peter has been teaching at SAIT since 2011, with the 1st year as a contract instructor and moved into a full-time position. He started in the industry at the age of 23, March 1975, starting out in pipeline construction for 2 years, then moving on to 2 years of work at meter stations and compressor stations. In 1979/80, he went to SAIT for his PT course, where he then moved into a Reservoir Engineering Department downtown.
He accidentally fell into the Marketing Department because of his knowledge of metering and pipelines. He took some Canadian Security courses and got his MBA from the University of Calgary. He was a manager for Marketing for 17 years. In 2006, he became an independent consultant. Peter brings 40 years of industry experience to the energy department.

Lisa Bzdurreck

Lisa is an Instructor in the Energy Asset Management program at the MacPhail School of Energy.  Lisa joined SAIT to assist in curriculum development and further her passion for mentorship. Lisa has an in-depth knowledge of regulatory, contracts, land administration and systems, in both freehold and crown.  She also teaches distance education in both the Land Analyst and Regulations certificates. She has a Bachelors degree from the University of Waterloo, and completed the Petroleum Land Administration and Petroleum Land Administration: Land Contracts Extension Certificate at Mount Royal University. She is very passionate about the oil and gas industry and enjoys teaching the new generation of energy employees.  In her free time she enjoys hiking, travelling and politics.

​Brett Fillmore 

Brett first instructed communication studies in the EAM program in the fall of 2016. He serves as an instructor in several different business programs at SAIT, and acts as an academic coach at SAIT's LAMB Learner Success Centre. He holds a BA in English Literature from the University of Calgary, a BEd concentrating in language and literacy from the University of British Columbia, and an MA in Profession 
Communication from Royal Roads University. His background in writing led him to marketing and communication roles in the manufacturing sector, most notably companies that build heavy equipment for oilfield and construction applications.
